Large chemical fire in New Jersey ‘worst I’ve ever seen’, mayor says

A big chemical hearth burned by way of the evening and into Saturday morning in northern New Jersey, its smoke so heavy that it was detected on climate radar and seen and smelled in neighboring New York Metropolis.

The hearth at Majestic Industries and the Qualco chemical plant in Passaic unfold to a number of buildings and threatened their collapse, officers mentioned.
