Lawyer, vintner plead guilty in college admissions case

A New York legal professional and a Napa Valley vintner have admitted to taking part within the faculty admissions bribery scheme.

Gordon Caplan and Agustin Huneeus Jr. pleaded to blame Tuesday in Boston federal courtroom.

Caplan was once co-chairman of the distinguished regulation company Willkie Farr & Gallagher. The Greenwich, Connecticut, resident was once charged with paying $75,000 to get any person to right kind the solutions on his daughter’s ACT examination after she took it.

Huneeus’ circle of relatives owns vineyards in California’s Napa Valley and in Oregon. Government say he agreed to pay $300,000 to rig his daughter’s SAT rating and feature her designated as a water polo recruit to the College of Southern California.

They’re amongst 14 folks who’ve agreed to plead to blame. Actress Felicity Huffman pleaded to blame remaining week.
