Cherrie: I'm not 100% Swedish or Somali

As a part of a brand new four-part sequence known as Diaspora Diaries, hip hop artist Cherrie talks about her good fortune and her combat to seek out identification as a black lady in Scandinavia.

Born in Norway to Somali folks and raised in Sweden, she says she feels neither 100% Swedish nor Somali.

Alternatively, she attributes the good fortune of her hip hop occupation to the Somali diaspora throughout Europe.

The BBC stuck up together with her all the way through September’s common election in Sweden – the place an anti-immigration birthday party was once vying to make huge positive factors.

Sequence manufacturer: Daniel Henry
