Canada politician says crucifix 'not religious symbol'

The newly-elected premier of Quebec in Canada has raised eyebrows through pronouncing a crucifix striking within the provincial legislature isn’t a spiritual image.

François Legault’s remarks come in spite of his govt plan to prohibit civil servants from dressed in pieces of clothes comparable to hijabs and the Jewish skullcap.
