6 emerging women writers receive $30,000 Rona Jaffe Awards

Fiction writers Mari Christmas and Yalitza Ferreras and poets Elisa Gonzalez and Charleen McClure are amongst six winners of Rona Jaffe Basis Writers’ Awards

NEW YORK — Fiction writers Mari Christmas and Yalitza Ferreras and poets Elisa Gonzalez and Charleen McClure are amongst six winners of Rona Jaffe Basis Writers’ Awards, $30,000 prizes for rising ladies authors.

Different winners introduced Tuesday have been nonfiction author Hannah Bae and fiction author Temim Fruchter.

All six can be featured Thursday in a digital studying hosted via New York College.

The awards are named for the overdue novelist Rona Jaffe, who began this system in 1995. Earlier winners come with Eula Biss, Lan Samantha Chang and previous U.S. poet laureate Tracy Ok. Smith.
